Riewe

In August of 2018 The Mills County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services stating there were allegations of physical abuse at Ms. Sharon’s Daycare owned by 59 year old Sharon Riewe in Goldthwaite. Chief Deputy Chris Green, Investigator Stephanie Brown and CPS Investigator Angel Mascareno began an investigation into the allegations. Through numerous interviews with both current and prior attendees of the daycare along with their parents the investigation revealed that there had in fact been instances of physical abuse. The physical abuse involved child victims ranging in age from 3 years to 8 years old. During the investigation it was revealed there had been other allegations of the same nature that had been investigated by the state in 2007 and 2013. As the investigation went on more families came forward to report what their children had experienced. The case was presented to the Mills County Grand Jury in May 2019. The Grand Jury returned indictments on 13 counts of Injury to a Child, 3rd Degree Felonies. On May 11, 2019 Sharon Riewe turned herself in to the Lampasas Police Department and was booked into the Lampasas County Jail on 13 counts of Injury to a Child. She was later released on bonds totaling $10,000.
